Hotel management is a three-year professional programme covering food production, food and beverage service, front office and housekeeping, with accommodation operations and tourism alongside. It is a practical course — the hours you spend in training kitchens and restaurant labs are the course.
The government Institutes of Hotel Management admit through NCHMCT JEE; private institutes usually admit on Class 12 marks. Both include industrial training in working hotels, and the quality of that placement is the single best predictor of where you end up.
